Bluetooth not working after HA OS update with ASUS BT-400

The problem

My bluetooth configuration stopped working after the update to HomeAssistant OS 9.4.

I have unplugged the usb dongle and restarted the vm/host multiple times without success.

I have removed the integration and tried to recreate it, now it cannot find any unconfigured adapter.

Details:
OS upgrade 9.3 to 9.4
Bluetooth adapter: ASUS BT-400
Running on a vm on a synology nas. The VM manager still picks up the bt-400 as usb device.

tried placing the firmware file at /lib/firmware/brcm/ but no luck.

There currently isn't a way to install the patch files but there is a workaround here:

home-assistant/operating-system#2222

ah seems to be resolved with the 2022.12.8 release. Saw some Bluetooth fixes in there.

After a restart the issues is there again. Bluetooth adapter cannot be found

It's likely your adapter needs the patch files that are missing, I'd probably swap it out for a CSR one or wait until operating system provides them

Thanks, will try it with a CSR one. Perhaps consider removing the ASUS BT-400 from the high performance list.
