Entity Card for attribute shows state not attribute history

Hi,

I've created a Entity Card to track the firmware version of my inverter, which is an attribute to the device entity.
While this works fine the history of the card only shows the changes of the device state instead of the attribute.
I would expect the history to reflect the data shown on the card.
Is this configurable somehow?

This is very similar to the question for tracking attribute changes in the Logbook.
