Checklist

  • I have updated to the latest available Home Assistant version.
  • I have cleared the cache of my browser.
  • I have tried a different browser to see if it is related to my browser.
  • I have tried reproducing the issue in safe mode to rule out problems with unsupported custom resources.

Describe the issue you are experiencing

Binary sensors "must have" a default set to "show as". Unsetting it just reverts it to "Opening".

Describe the behavior you expected

I expect the sensor to go back to a simple on/off state.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Add a new binary sensor
  2. Change "show as" to some value
  3. Unset "show as" by clicking the x next to it.

I believe this is by design. It does not revert to Opening, it reverts to the device class initially set by the integration.
