The development on digest rubysha3 has been slow and doesnt support ubuntu well.

We could use FFI to interact with the c library tiny keccak256 https://github.com/debris/tiny-keccak

Or

We could use helix to interact with the rust implementation! https://github.com/debris/tiny-keccak
However, Helix doesn't really support gems yet tildeio/helix#102
