Look into support for PyPy (https://pypy.org) for python version 3.9 as fully supported for SMARTS. This would mean testing the project run in PyPy and giving instructions related to conda installation of SMARTS.
Motivation
This is driven by a need for better simulation performance. PyPy claims to have better performance than CPython (and thus better than Python.)
