Pattern editor in Instrument input mode.

Defect compared to 0.9.5

  • Add note via mouse left click event
  • Add an additional, but different higher or lower note, at the same position, e.g. to form a chord
or for example, creating flams, as shown in the example video for the Patern Editor with Hydrogen 0.9.5.
    Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbAJMK3ZX-0

Try:

in pattern editor

  1. change Inputmode to instrument
  2. add a note at any position and/or key via lmouse left click

Sorry, I just tested the current app image version 1.2.3 x86_64 for Linux. Here the left click event for adding notes in instrument mode, works as expected.

Nice. (At least mainline Ubuntu ships a beta version of 1.2.0 still loaded with a bunch of bugs from 1.1 -> 1.2 transition)

I watched the video you linked and I must admit UX is horrible :D. You have to select the particular instruments to see which note of the chord is the one leading/lagging. As leading/lagging is a temporal movement and horizontal direction in the Pattern Editor defines a position in time, we could should provide a visual representation. Maybe moving the note slightly to the left/right or using a more intense color in one side of the note symbol.

Congrats for giving newer versions a try, by the way. You can now use multiedit for notes by drag selecting them and e.g. Ctrl+drag to copy them. Or edit them cursor-based using your keyboard.
