Hmmm for horizontal swiping it's not such a bad idea, because I mostly disable horizontal two finger scrolling. For me horizontal scrolling is too fidgety if you have vertical scrolling enabled.
OSX and iOS are light years ahead as you can scroll and swipe with two fingers depending on the speed of finger movement on pages where you can scroll horizontal. That's how it works on Safari at least. On OSX 3 finger swipe is reserved for desktop switching. Really intelligent and smooth, how it all works on Macs.

Is it possible to map two finger horizontal swipe? For Alt+left/right for example,
