Does it worse to have a new version/tag in this github project, to have above distros to pull it ?

In fedora and openSUSE distro this package seems to refer to version 1.2.1 from https://sourceforge.net/projects/powerpc-utils/files/powerpc-utils-python/powerpc-utils-python-1.2.1.tar.gz/download tarball dated in 2009.
But in this github project the last commit is dated 2015.
