Description

For example, Niels ten Oever let us know in the past that "Ten Oever" is preferred in footers but "ten Oever" elsewhere.
Please see https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc8280.txt.

With v3, can't find a way to honor such a request.

Also, Iljitsch van Beijnum previously indicated preference for "Van Beijnum" in footers but "van Beijnum" elsewhere.
Please see https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc6384.txt and https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc5534.txt.

RFC-to-be 9592 will show "ten Oever & Wood" in the footer of the PDF file, where "Ten Oever & Wood" would have been preferred.
Please see https://www.rfc-editor.org/authors/rfc9592.pdf.

Noting here that there are ongoing discussions about "publication name" and "author-curated shortname" in RSWG that will likely impact this if they come to consensus.

The idea of publication name is also mentioned here: ietf-tools/datatracker#7386
