IHM Meeting Summary May 25, 2017

Attended by BW, TG and BV

1. All requirements for Nup84 demo on ChimeraX are complete. Exosome and mediator will soon follow (BW).
2. Next large group meeting is tentatively planned for June 8th, 2017. BW will set up the doodle poll. Agenda will include the Nup84 demo on ChimeraX.
3. Issue 19 needs to be addressed so that users can browse and search for IHM-related data categories and data items. Moreover, the results will be user-friendly in a web-browsable dictionary.
4. Issue 36: We will use bytes to make things simpler.
5. Clarification on question from last week's meeting: The model should be transformed to fit the image.
6. TG will make a list of assumptions that ChimeraX uses to visualize an IHM mmCIF file. These will be encoded as a set of warnings in ChimeraX. The list can be used to enhance the dictionary and provide better documentation.
7. BV will add documentation in the dictionary to clarify the following:
   • Conventions to fit model to 2DEM image (refer to last week's meeting summary)
   • Recommendations for binary sphere model ensemble files.
8. Add "DCD" as an option in the enumeration list for _ihm_external_files.file_format to handle binary ensemble files.
