on the simple example, if I highlight text in reverse (ie, start at end, highlight to beginning), cannot use buttons

Type a little bit of text, then highlight from the end back to the beginning, and try to click the "Bold" button, it won't work.

However, if you highlight the same text from the beginning and highlight to the end, the button does work.
