latest deb file installation is not creating the static files #1091

I am using Ubuntu 14.40 and installed the latest deb file via

http://s3.amazonaws.com/influxdb/influxdb_latest_amd64.deb

Although i installed it i havent seen any directory created under /opt/influxdb/versions/0.8.5/

From this thread it looks like the problem is caused by issue #1069. I'll consider this a duplicate of #1069 and close this issue.
