Bug description

If a video has 1080p as it's highest quality and if the user sets 2160p as the default quality, the quality of the video with 1080p as it's highest option gets set to 480p instead, unless a 2160p video is played before playing the 1080p video.

It might have been fixed in revanced-patches-5.3.1-dev.4.

This issue is not reproducible on my side, so please test it.

Unfortunately no. Still if the quality is set to 2160p or 1440p, videos with 1080p as the highest option switches to 480p. But now I noticed that if I switch to landscape mode, the quality jumps to 720p. So, I don't know what's happening.

I forgot to mention this, but I don't use Spoof streaming data as I don't have any playback issues. But when I tested with it on, there seems to be no quality dropping issues. Let me test the same on ReVanced as well.

Uhm in Revanced, I think they already have a fix for quality drop. Can u check ?

Just tested on ReVanced, without Spoof streaming data and yeah, no drop in quality.

I was using ReVanced, but I thought it was RVX and struggled to replicate this issue for a long time. Only at 1:07 did I realize it and when I jumped over to RVX, the issue is easily replicable.

So, here's a way over the top compressed and oversped video showcasing everything I mentioned above.
