I was blocked too.
Creating a new client id here: https://developers.google.com/identity/oauth2/web/guides/get-google-api-clientid and passing it (with the secret-id) to the command line of gcalcli on the first login worked for me.

When will there finally be a fix for this issue? I have to create new token every week because google keeps blocking the app then ...
