When a side menu (left or right) is open, a user is able to navigate around with main content pane and perform scrolling, tapping of buttons, etc.

When someone taps on anything in the content area and the menu is open, this should automatically close the side menu, similar to how to JQM handles their side menus (or panels as they call them).

Yeah good idea, I'll add that in.

Can we test the state of the side menu to know if it is open or not?
