Compress name

When Right click a file and choose compress to .zip

And the known file extension is shown

For example i want to compress

CCleaner.exe

The compressed file would be ccleaner.exe.zip

The normal would be CCleaner.zip

And please improve the function of delete after compress as it fail to delete some files
The file not in use not system file

Not to compare but winrar deletes the same file which 7zip couldn't

2. what files were deleted and what files were not deleted?

I did check it in multiple windows 11 and 10
Sorry my last issue didn't explained well

7 zip compress the file name

It just add the extension before the extension of zip

CCleaner.exe.zip
The .exe is the extra

It didn't delete a hidden folder in usb drive
Not virus not corrupted
And not effect the files on usb drive when i deleted it

So Sorry for the inconvenient i download your latest 7zip 24.09 and the naming issue is solved
I'll check the delete function and report to you

7-zip doesn't delete read-only folders.
I'll fix it in next version.

Not all .exe show the problem
Just some of them

This nvcleaninstall for example

It has several dots in file name.
So 7-Zip uses another rules for archive name generation.

Why not reverse search for . and trim name from that offset?

Some names could look so:
file 2024.11.30
So it's not good to reduce such names to file 2024.11.zip.
