From @dmpetrov feedback:

It feels like the current flow is focused on DVC experts. This might be a bit too strong an assumption.

It might be better to design a flow in a way that a new user can play with a demo project in 1 minute.

We should set up at least one of the example projects to load the extension when it is opened in codespaces. We can then use the marketplace listing/dvc.org docs to give a brief demo of how to get started with that repo/codespaces/the extension.

I know that @shcheklein has played with getting the extension automatically installed on codespaces for one of our example repos. Now that the extension is in the marketplace we should be able to set this up properly.

Next steps:

  • Regenerate example-get-started repos.
  • Announce on Discord.
  • Add docs to dvc.org.

@shcheklein this could be useful for setting up an example repo with codespaces + the extension: https://github.com/microsoft/codetour

Seems this is to introduce ppl to code, not to extensions?

Yeah, it is less about the extension. You would use it to introduce them to the example codebase as part of the total time to value package.

I think we can safely close this now as the remaining items are tracked elsewhere.
