Expected Behavior

iPad -
1 - Should be able to turn off:
a) subtasks,
b) the viewing unscheduled tasks
c) and alter the zoom level of the timeline.
2- Shouldn't display tasks from the daily note which are outside the specified heading in the timeline.
3 - Should see newly created tasks on another device synced across and appear in the timeline without closing and reopening Obsidian.
4 - Should always see the time bar advance - it has worked at times (it did briefly after a reinstall but isn't now)
5 - Should be able to advance/select different days to view the timeline for in the timeline view and multi-day view

iPhone -
Issues 1 c, 3, 4 and 5 above

Current behaviour

iPad -
1 a & b - When trying to deselect view subtasks, and view unscheduled tasks, the slider doesn't move intially. If you go out and back into settings the sliders have then moved but the view hasn't changed. If you exit and re-open obsidian the sliders are back on.

You can see in this screenshot that the siders are off but subtasks and unschedled tasks are still displayed:

c - the value changes but the zoom level doesn't.

2 - All tasks from the relevant daily note are displayed instead of the ones from the specified planner heading. You can see that in the screenshot above as the outside tasks are showing in the unscheduled list.

3 - Newly created tasks appear in the daily note, either by typing or syncing, note but no tasks appear in the timeline without closing and reopening obsidian. Perhaps goes without saying that you can't click he timeline to make a new time block either - though I don't think this matters that much if you can get it updating from the daily note.

4 Time bar generally seems frozen at the time of opening on both ipad and iphone : e.g.

5 - Nothing seems to happen when trying to view different dates

Steps to reproduce

All my systems are up to date and I've tried reinstalling the dayplanner plugins so I'm assuming this is global/current normal behaviour in iOS/PadOS? Though am very surprised that others aren't reporting this. I couldn't find matching issues specific to my operating system and hardware, I did see someone who couldn't get the timeline to appear at all but that isn't the case.

Which Operating Systems are you using?

  • Android
  • iPhone/iPad
  • Linux
  • macOS
  • Windows

Obsidian Version

1.7.7

Possible solution

It would be amazing if you could get the timelline to behave on iOS/PadOS as it does on the Mac. The flexibility of the view is just fantastic and the ability to zoom into small scale tasks etc. is just the best for lesson planning. Thank you!
