Please, would you add the possibility to suspend the Clipboard?
Rationale:
I'm using copy & paste between other applications often. It is not good when everything what I copied appears in the window and it is even persisted. The list is then cluttered with items which I didn't mean to use with Eclipse at all and there is also the privacy consideration. Having multiple items for the clipboard to choose is good, but having everything there is not so good.
Suggestion 1:
A toggle between inactive (does not capture, but allows copying to the system clipboard from the history) and active (captures the system clipboard).
Suggestion 2:
A toggle between inactive (as above), local (captures only copies from Eclipse) and global (captures the system clipboard). If feasible, this looks like the best option.
Suggestion 3:
Probably not a good idea, the state of the panel would act as the active/inactive toggle. When the panel is closed, it does not capture, when it is open (although not visible), it does capture. However, it would confuse many users probably and it is not as nice as Suggestion 2.
Additional ideas:
A button in the panel's toolbar (next to the "Remove All" and "View Menu" buttons) for toggling and displaying the mode. There should be definitely a key binding to toggle/choose the mode.
Perhaps an option in the settings to choose the default state of the toggle (set when the workspace launches) is a good idea as well.
