More versatile sorting via metadata?

I'd love for more versatile sorting to be possible.

I currently organise my files as follows:

• Film
• Film: Animation
• Film: Documentary
• Film: Music
• Film: Shorts
• Film: World
• TV
• TV: Animation
• TV: World

Would it be possible to expose the following metadata?

• language (en, de, es, fr, it, ja, etc)
• running time (00:15:03, 01:45:12, 02:10:59, etc)
• genre (documentary, thriller, horror, comedy, music, etc)
• type (tv, movie)

Then custom rules could be written to sort files more granularly by metadata.

Thoughts appreciated.
