With their new WebExtension API, this should be straightforward, so maybe we could also upload this on AMO?

Even though I use FF, I don't have much experience with building extensions etc. Will test this out as soon as I can find some time.

Sure! I haven't really changed the source of this since I made it, but if you're interested, please feel free to submit a patch for Firefox support (or an update to the README explaining that it already works in Firefox).
