The Chrome browser extension has recently (in the past 1-2 weeks) stopped updating and displaying sent and received SMS messages. It seems I can still successfully send SMS messages via the extension (they appear in my Android messaging app). When I run Join's diagnostics on the browser extension and Android app, both report no problems. Until this issue occurred, Join has been working well between my desktop browser and phone.
There have been two recent changes (around 2 weeks ago) that I thought could be potential triggers for the issue, although I cannot be certain: my phone (Samsung A40) applied a software update (build A405FNXXU4CUL2; Android 11 - https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-A405FN/XEH/doc.html). The default Samsung Messages app (v12.2.20.61) was updated separately via Samsung's app store and appears to have had a major update (it tries to impose 'chat' features on users).
To troubleshoot the issue, I have switched to Google's Messages app as my default SMS client and disabled its chat features to see if that resolved the problem, but it didn't. I also disabled and re-enabled 'SMS and Call Service' in the Join Android app, which didn't resolve it.
The browser extension is installed on Brave Browser - [Version 1.37.116 Chromium: 100.0.4896.127 (Official Build) (x86_64).

Closing the issue as it now appears to have been resolved. The last troubleshooting action I took was to disable and enable 'SMS and Call Service' for a second time. The browser extension still wasn't displaying synced messages afterwards. A few hours have passed since then and the extension is now displaying the most recent SMS messages from my phone, so it seems that troubleshooting method can require some time to become effective.
