Financial contributions/funding/sponsorship

Not an issue, just a question/suggestion (primarily @joegoldbeck, not sure if the package has other maintainers): What are your thoughts on funding/sponsorship for this project? And in case you are generally open to monetary contributions, would you be willing to set up more "mainstream" channels besides Ethereum, e.g. Open Collective?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm using mongoose-encryption in a commercial product, and we have a (modest) open source sponsorship budget, so we'd be happy to contribute a few $ as long as it doesn't involve crypto transactions 😄
