The new media manager is great !!!!!

thumbmail generator after upload : it will be good if we can create thumbs / medium / small image after all upload ! like
name_image.jpg,
name_image_m.jpg
name_image_t.jpg
name_image_s.jpg
=> user can set image size in media manager options

For what for a use case do you need the thumbs? Actually we are in a debate on the Glip channel about how to implement source sets in images.

One use case would be speed of using the media manager. If it loads thumbs and not the full image resized

Guess that can be solved with pagination and not floating the disc. When a cloud adapter is supporting a thumb property, then the MM JS client is using that one already.

=> that i mean
webmaster set 3 workflows
thumb : crop h:200px l:300px prefix: -tb
medium : rezize h:500px l:800px prefix: -md
etc
for me, it will 2 way benefic

  • end-user image gestion can be more simply
  • template provider or component creator can create workflow and add more powerfull optimisation for load speed page

I guess this is the same as #255
A plugin example would be enough. Can then be extended by 3d party,

The hooks are there now for 3rd party extensions with an example in the resize plugin to have max dimension after upload, but I would not ad a thumbnail functionality into core.
