I feel super dumb asking this, but I wouldn't if I was able to figure this out by myself.
So I made a new project, got Congo to run as a module and customized a bit. After writing a short post for my blog I wondered about adding tags to the article-header (which I figured out later was already support by Congo...) and made a new layout in /layouts/blog/single.html. After reloading the site only the content was showing and I read about the capability in Congo. As I thought the layouts in the root directory are just overlays I removed the single.html and parent directory and thought everything would go back to normal.
But since then the whole article-header is still missing and I can't figure out how to get it back.
I tried to rebuild, update the theme and played around in the config but nothing seems to help.
All other changes since then show up just fine, only the header is missing.
Any advice on how to deal with this is appreciated.
At this point I'm close to redoing the whole project.
EDIT:
I thought setting up my project again may alleviate the problems, but turns out it doesn't. I set up a new Hugo/Congo project from scratch, copied over the single article I wrote and it still doesn't have the article-header.
EDIT 2:
I just set up another project from scratch, not copying any of the files I created previously and went through the process of setting up Hugo & Congo again. After making some dummy content and launching the server there is still no article header. It seems like it has to do with cached files, although I did this in the meantime:
Deleted ~/go/pkg/mod/cache/ directory
Deleted ~/.cache/go-build/ & ~/.cache/hugo_cache/
Started server in debug mode (no errors or warnings)
I'm out of my depth at this point. I have no clue what could be causing this, and I can't find any more troubleshooting guides that seem helpful.
My last idea is that it has do with the way I'm setting up my project, as I'm using Nix Flakes to make my development environment. Maybe the files are cached in the Nix store and rendered this way, although I'm only setting up Hugo and Go this way. I'll try to look into that, but otherwise I have no clue what I can do anymore.
