While large parts of the JavaScript community consider declared, static types obsolete, they still have same interesting benefits. We will look at both Google Closure Compiler Annotations as well as TypeScript and see what they can do for you.

This talk will start with an example where static types have made my life a lot easier followed by a shootout between me as a fan-boy of static typing and myself as a fan-boy of dynamic typing.
