Sometimes on my files it detects offset of around a minute. I know I pretty much never want more than 10-15 seconds of offset, but alass can detect incorrect offset and there's no way to stop it. It would be nice to have a command line option to select best offset that is less than N seconds, or at least make it not apply any correction if detected offset is more than N seconds.
