It has happened a few times in the past few weeks so ticketing finally.
Issue
Laptop connects to a hotspot w/o any issue. Then soon after that, say a few minutes, laptop disconnects from the wifi. Reconnecting fails.
One time I saw "failed to connect with unknown error".
Seen on brya but I think it occurred with c13-morph as well?

#1087 is likely different as this issue is specific to wifi hotspot provided by pixel4.
Workaround that works
Rebooting ChromeOS has been stably working.
But, I just saw this issue when I opened the lid of brya. Before closing the lid I set it to reboot to install the OS upgrade. So it should be technically the same as rebooting, which is the workaround mentioned above.
