Describe the bug
Latest version shows files with 4gb+ size in gray in the download section. Click shows notification about checking but nothing changes. I've got S23 ultra - it can and has files with these sizes.

Also Russian wiki has strange sizings: smallest has pics and video, the largest has only pics )

Expected behavior

Allow to download such files and show correct "tags" for pics etc.

Environment

  • Version of Kiwix Android : 3.9.1
  • Device : s24 ultra
  • OS version : 14

@kiravv I guess you can not download over 4gb because your storage is fat32 and don't support larger files.

@kiravv Thanks for opening the issue. As you describe it shows you Detecting if the file system can create 4GB files it indicates that it is currently detecting whether it can create a 4GB file or not. Can you please wait a bit to complete the detecting, it will detect the fileSystem and update the list according to the fileSystem.

Kelson, I can and i have 16gb wikipedia file already from the autumn

I agree your storage is not fat32 otherwise it will show you Your file system doesn’t support files over 4GB error message when you try to "long click" on the books.

I've waited for a minute.

@kiravv Thanks for confirming. I have a device of Android 14 and on that device, this issue is not occurring. So Can you leave your phone for a few minutes on the "Download screen" and see if it completes the detecting? I am trying to reproduce this behavior on the emulator to debug why it is happening on your device.

Can you please provide some additional information that would be helpful for debugging:

  • Your storage details (How much storage is left and how much is full).
  • Please provide device logs if possible
    • Go to Help screen.
    • Click on "Send diagnostic report"
    • it will generate a log.txt file please put that file here.

@kiravv Thanks for providing the device logs. It was very helpful. Can you please try with this apk and let us know the problem is fixed or not on your s24 ultra device? https://drive.google.com/file/d/11JYfBfYf3H4dIUibZ0tuMlT_vtOEm0xn/view
