I use Samsung Note. Keyboard version 1.27.1145 2011-11-06
Double press on dot for comma will increase the speed of typing, because now we
have 2 possibillities:
1) long press on dot - its too long
2) shift+dot - often mistakes
or even better will be separate comma and dot like in English version. Mqybe at
right of space button (or moove button 'top' to the right, and replace right
shift with comma).
or maybe in settings config button like circle next to "Fn"

I was mainly trying to reproduce the original layout and not try to
second-guess the design decisions behind the layout, though I agree that it
appears odd not to have a comma key directly available.
Are there commonly used hardware keyboards in Russia that do this differently?
I'm reluctant to make nonstandard changes in the default layout.
Double-pressing "." to generate "," may cause issues, for example a user may be
trying to actually type multiple periods in a row, and it would also be messy
to implement, so I'd prefer to avoid that option.
Other than that, I'm hoping to make progress on the long-delayed user
customizable layouts (issue 13) which would let users make such modifications
directly.

Yes, #13 - will be great!
Our hardware keyboards not very comfortabble, because comma appears in text
more often than dot. there is some articles about it from famous and largest
russian designer and design studio.
anyway, #13 - will solve that problem.
thanks!
