It would be great if we could add a button to our homepage which would automatically put server/namespace in the configuration of our browser extensions.

The idea would be, that the extensions can be called from the webpage, but we must be sure that no one can change the configuration of the client without the user now about it. Not sure if this is possible.

Any comments?

I think this is a huge security vulnerability.

How about, the extension asks the user to confirm the change? So we would end up with two clicks: a button on the homepage + a dialog prompt by the extension.
