Suggest a Platform independent, simple and effective, Face recognition or detection system to our dear developer please

Is there a platform independent Opensource Face recognition or detection program or script, which can be suggested to the developer to make this awesome project platform independent? I am a Linux user and not at all developer.

I found this project here. I don't know if it is simple and platform independent or not, stil listing.

ater goung through a couple of python projects (Zero, One, Two), here on GITHUB, few are using opencv and are just a few lines long. In such case, is it possible to have opencv installed and use some algorithm and free this project from depending on other projects?
