Community Code of Conduct

We as members, contributors, and leaders of this community pledge to support, by our actions, an environment that is productive, positive, healthy, open, and welcoming.

Essential to this aim is ensuring that participation in our community is, for everyone, free of harassment and discrimination.

Our Standards

Examples of behavior our community encourages:

  • Presenting and debating positions based on objective evidence
  • Demonstrating professionalism and good will toward other people
  • Being open minded and showing respect for differing opinions and viewpoints
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility for mistakes
  • Focusing on what is best for the overall community

Examples of unacceptable behavior:

  • Insulting or derogatory comments
  • Public or private harassment
  • Personal attacks
  • Sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances
  • Publishing others' private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit permission
  • Trolling
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Enforcement responsibilities

Community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem contrary to the community’s interests. Community leaders have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all community spaces and when an individual is representing the community in public spaces. Examples of representing our community include using an official email address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.

Enforcement

Instances of behavior in violation of this Code of Conduct may be reported to community@kontain.app. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly. Community leaders are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.

Consequences of violation

If community leaders determine that a violation of this Code of Conduct has occurred, they will act proportionally. Possible enforcement responses include:

  1. Correction: A private email to the offender explaining the nature of the violation and why it was inappropriate. A public apology may be suggested.
  2. Warning: As above, plus consequences for continued behavior. The offender may be required not to interact with the people involved for a specified period of time.
  3. Temporary Ban: As above, plus a ban from public communication with the community for a specified period of time.
  4. Permanent Ban: A permanent ban from public communication with the community.
