Hi, this is a known limitation as the data structures for storing mark and marker related information are completely different. I agree that implementing this would be nice but it requires a major overhaul of the plugin and I can't commit to that anytime soon.
Oh, the ) shown there isn't a marker but a literal close-paren character. That's why it's green in color like the marks and not pink which is the highlight color in the screenshots.
