When j press the create hotspot button it says not running.. how to fix that ?? I am using Kali Linux virtual machine and a wireless network adaptor

I also get this issue running debian 12 bookworm.

I get this same "not running" state when trying to create the hotspot. Tried it via CLI and here's what I see. I'm not sure why my Pi Zero 2W reacts differently.

WARN: brmfmac driver doesn't work properly with virtual interfaces and
it can cause kernel panic. For this reason we disallow virtual
interfaces for your adapter.

ERROR: Your adapter can not be a station (i.e. be connected) and an AP at the same time

im on linux mint and when i first installed it in oem mode i was it was working fine other then the wifi being kinda slow but after exiting oem it now acts like its starting but will always end up back in the not running state
