hotspot is not starting if frequency band of 5GHz is selected #448

Describe the bug
When we select 5GHz as the frequency band the hotspot is not created

install wireless-regdb package should fix the problem

No it is already installed but still, it is not working
If it is the issue is with wireless-regdb the 2.4 GHz shouldn't start but for me it is working

check your wifi which channel allow you to use 5gz frequency by using iw list (no-ir mean not allowed to use) and use the channel option in advanced option

no-ir actually means No-Initial-Radiation, which in lay-mans-terms means the channel is not allowed to be used unless another device is already transmitting on that channel.
So you are able to use that channel only as Client but not as AP host...

(Intel driver is known to be bugged with respect to this, AP in higher as 2.4G bands due to this...)
(So AVOID intel chipsets for WiFi, same as Broadcom ones.)

It does not work with realtek drivers as well, it seems unuseable... for 5ghz else works okayish
