Developer instructions to install and run LangFlow in dev mode

Hello,

It would be great to have some extra information about best practices for running and installing langflow for those who want to develop it and are newcomers juniors and are just boarding :-)

for example

To build and install Langflow’s frontend and backend, use the following commands:

make install_frontend && make build_frontend && make install_backend

does not work on windows 11 pro, I know, i should look for answers and solutions - yet I think it would be great to have extended information about best practices

To install and run LangFlow in development mode on Windows 11 Pro without using make commands, follow these steps:

1. Install LangFlow:
   Ensure you have Python 3.10 or higher installed. Open a terminal and run:

   python -m pip install langflow -U

2. Clone the Repository:
   Clone the LangFlow repository from GitHub:

   git clone https://github.com/langflow-ai/langflow.git
   cd langflow

3. Set Up a Virtual Environment:
   Create and activate a virtual environment to isolate dependencies:

   python -m venv venv
   .\venv\Scripts\activate

4. Install Dependencies:
   Install the required dependencies using Poetry:

   pip install poetry
   poetry install

5. Run the Backend:
   Start the development server for the backend:

   poetry run python -m langflow run --dev

6. Run the Frontend:
   Navigate to the frontend directory and install dependencies:

   cd frontend
   npm install
   npm start

This will start LangFlow with the development settings enabled. The frontend will be available at localhost:3000 and the backend at localhost:7860 ^{[1][2][3][4][5]}.

clone the repo and in the root run using make backend in one terminal and make frontend in the other

okay, seems like I will install wsl on windows or debian as separate system

Okay, i think i am on good track, had to do many other earlier steps. I think I will do some documentation on that.
