We can now present versions in which the initial LaTeX declarations have been adjusted to produce PDF 1.7 documents conforming to PDF/UA-1. Please refer to #72 for descriptions of the individual files.
Access to the Files
The full collection of PDF files is available at Google Drive, where you may select one or more individual files to download, or, at the
top of the page is a Download all link which will generate a zip file and download the full collection.
Please note that some PDF viewers modify the PDF when opening it (to allow for annotations, for example). In some cases this is known to break the PDF/UA-1 standard. If that happens re-download and use a different viewer.
All the files presented here conform to PDF/UA-1 except for the collection of Bohr papers, (47464-t-tagged-17.pdf) where the original TeX document has a non standard section hierarchy and the resulting PDF fails due to skipped section levels. This could be fixed by changing the source, however here we are attempting to produce tagged PDF from existing LaTeX sources with minimal to no changes.
Validation against other relevant standards such as PDF/A-1 or PDF/A-3 will be checked later and this page updated.
All the files were generated with LuaLaTeX (lualatex-dev in the June 2024 release of TeX Live 2024), and only differ from the PDF 2.0 documents in the "LaTeX preamble" at the start of the document, the body of the document is shared between the PDF 2.0 and PDF 1.7 versions.

PDF/UA-1 Examples by the LaTeX Project
The earlier post, WTPDF / PDF/UA-2 Examples by the LaTeX Project demonstrated a set of PDF 2.0 files conforming to PDF/UA-2 and PDF/A-4F WTPDF/Accessibility.

Verification of PDF/UA-1 compliance
