Hi -

A suggestion here to move away from using the word "namespaces" in the documentation, as CSS already uses the word 'namespaces' for CSS3 namespaces (vertical bar syntax "|" - and supported in LESS as of 1.5).

I would like to suggest using the term 'scope' instead for this LESS technique.

I realize that LESS has called them 'namespaces' since the beginning, so you'd have to insert language like "(formerly called "namespaces")".

Cheers,

I would like to suggest using the term 'scope' instead for this LESS technique.

Unfortunately the "scope" can't replace "namespace" as it's already used widely for.. yeah, well "the real scope" in the LESS (see Overview: Scope, #1316, etc.).
I'd say it would be fine to just precise if it's "CSS namespaces" or "LESS namespaces" where it's not already evident by context (usually it is) unless we have a better idea.

Or a note at the top of the section.. not to be confused with..

Either one of these suggestions sounds good - just to disambiguate.
