I've suggested a deeper integration of Liberapay into F-Droid and the outcome was that mainly an app could help.
Or maybe at least something, which can receive "intends". (AFAIK a PWA cannot do this (yet).)

Other apps should have the ability to trigger donation requests (with a suggested value), so that the user then can confirm/adjust the value and easily accept the donation.

I think I don't need to mention that the app should be FLOSS and available on F-Droid. 😃

As far as I can tell the only difference between triggering an Android "intent" and opening a progressive web page is that an "intent" handler can return data to the calling app.

So you mean it is possible for an app to open a PWA? If so, that would be great, it then may not need a native app (yet).

I was thinking about doing a Qt app in order to avoid multiple developement (one for each plateform). I opened an issue here: liberapay/liberapay-qt#2
