Correspondence not possible in mobile app

What is the problem?

I am able to open correspondence games only. And when I'm opening the game I can continue games I've already started.
What I cannot do is see from the home tab games that are underway.
All I see is the quick games.
I keep reading that there is a lobby tab and correspondence tab but this isn't visible to me.
I'm running 1312 I think. It's the latest stable release in GitHub.
I'm running grapheneOS on a Pixel 8a.
I've tried an older version and I've tried downloading from Google Play store and directly from GitHub. Nothing works other than playing in the browser.

Steps to reproduce the bug

Download app on grapheneOS phone
No correspondence tab available anywhere.

One interesting thing I noticed is that there is a moment where it says Hello Expatriotic! when loading and it appears like it's loading many blocks.But then nothing.
