Apparently, in addition to this, linux-surface/intel-precise-touch#5, iptsd itself can also freeze.
I don't currently have any reproduction steps or debug info, but I have observed as follows:
iptsd was launched in terminal: sudo /usr/bin/iptsd
I got a touch hang
Tried to stop iptsd with ctrl+C - nothing happned
Stopped iptsd by closing the terminal window
Start new iptsd - touch works
I previously reported in chat that systemctl stop iptsd.service would sometimes not work (hence I started running iptsd in terminal). I assume this is the reason.
