In Firefox originally, when the one hold Crtl and and pull the the tab on tab bar it copies the tab. When the Mouse / "Show position of pointer when the Control key is pressed" option is enabled in seetings of Cinnamon it creates a new window and put the tab here.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enabling Mouse / "Show position of pointer when the Control key is pressed"
  2. In Firefox push ctrl and pull a tab in tab bar
  3. it creates a new windows with the pulled tab

When disable Mouse / "Show position of pointer when the Control key is pressed" it creates a new tab on tab bar.

Expected behaviour

Copy the selected tab.

This is likely related to the same issue people are running into in X11: #11445, #10322, #11171, #673, #2612.

If you use Wayland (which is still experimental) instead of X11, this exact thing is fixed but it's broken in another way: holding down the control key and scrolling the mouse wheel no longer zooms in/out.

I think the Mint team should remove the "Show position of pointer when the Control key is pressed" from the settings UI until this is fixed.
