The simulator version we provide includes a very basic rendering engine to visualize robots/environments.
It would be great if someone could contribute code for rendering textured environments/robots and make it much more visually appealing! Here some examples of what OpenSceneGraph supports with relatively small effort. http://www.openscenegraph.org/projects/osg/wiki/Support/UserGuides/Examples
