While the implications of this are not yet clear (legally and commercially), we were wondering if it could be an option to replace the Akka usage with a MIT/Apache licenced implementation? Naively speaking, wouldn't this also change the licencing of this project?

Akka is changing their licence model: akka/akka#31561
There seems to be very little Akka usage in the project, but it would still qualify as usage: https://github.com/lmenezes/cerebro/blob/00b4df2a978b91f11f6263c9715e5414d84809fc/app/controllers/AuthController.scala
