Describe the bug

This issue was reported by @pzdr7 on PR #8706

There is an issue where the edit and delete icons do not correctly correspond to the messages in a thread. This leads to a confusing user experience as the icons remain visible even when switching between threads, displaying actions for messages written by different users.

To Reproduce

As User 1 (Instructor), send two messages in a channel.
On the first message, reply a few times.
As User 2 (Student), on the second message, reply a few times.
Switch to the thread of the first message

Expected behavior

The edit and delete icons should only appear next to the messages written by the logged-in user and should update correctly when switching between threads.
