working great on vmware 17.5 and laptop both running
Operating System: Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS
Kernel: Linux 5.4.0-189-generic
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 2357:0101 TP-Link RTL8812AU Archer T4U 802.11ac
Bus 003 Device 006: ID 0bda:c811 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. 802.11ac NIC 8811cu

i will test later on debian trixie on the same systems and hardware then report back

Hi @nutpantz

Thanks for the reports. Here is a report that could be very helpful if you have the capability to do it:

Grab the development version of Ubuntu 25.04 and test with it. I'm not sure if it is out yet or what kernel it has but as soon as it is out and is using at least kernel 6.13, testing would be great. Warning: You may need to report some things to Ubuntu... like they need to turn compiling on for rtl8812au and rtl8821/11au... they may need to start adding the formware for both of those chips and they may need to clean out the existing vendor driver they had used for the rtl8812au.

Helping Ubuntu get ready for 25.04 would be a big big help... same goes for Debian but what kernel is Debian using for 13? If it is 6.12 then it won't have support for rtl8812au and rtl8821/11au and it will have to wait for next cycle.
