This creates a reproduction of the bug in #357. I'm not expecting this PR to be merged but just hoping it's found useful for finding a fix
To make sure I can reproduce it properly using Octane I've taken the liberty of updating the addon to use ember-cli 3.15 (with ember-source 3.17.0-beta.x and ember-data 3.12.x).
The relevant test reproduction changes are in the following commit 1edaeb6
To see the failing test run the following command:
yarn ember test --server --filter="Integration | Component | my-component"
