Upgrade from 2.1.0 to 2.1.1 ISSUE

Hi

After upgrading from 2.1.0 to 2.1.1: (upgrade steps see below)

composer require magento/product-community-edition 2.1.1 --no-update
composer update
php bin/magento setup:upgrade

When we are modifying a configurable product, and we attach new images to it, the configurable product becomes a simple product! Our site is messed up now because of this! Can you please check this issue and provide a feeedback on it?

@ksz2013 I believe this is related to the same here #6424, there is a major issue with configurable products in 2.1.1.
