2020

While 2019 featured a host of improvements focused on the developer experience and the tools and libraries for PWA Studio, 2020 will bring a renewed focus on the shopper experience. The Venia reference storefront requires additional functionality/features to showcase a best-in-class example of a progressive web application for a robust web storefront. The core team focus for 1H 2020 will be on delivery of Venia features in order to ensure developers have a more complete storefront to begin their own builds from. Additionally, it will provide merchants with a more robust example of what's possible with a PWA Studio developed storefront.

Current Priorities (Q1-Q2 2020)

We'll focus on launching new Venia features and optimizing the existing experiences to create compelling storefront experiences. Most importantly, the new feature development will also focus on desktop experience (where Venia has previously prioritized a mobile first approach). We'll also introduce a new framework for extensibility that will improve the experience for customization and third party development of extensions on PWA Studio. And of course, we'll continue to focus on efforts to improve quality, scalability, and performance throughout the year.
